Seriyuu No Seishi
Yui is a classmate of Miaka's from the modern day world, and is the one who discovers the book along with Miaka. She stays in the modern world for most of the first part of the TV series, and later becomes the priestess for Kutou Country. Yui also loves Tamahome, and her jealousy of Tamahome's love for Miaka drives her to bitter feelings towards Miaka. Yui's experiences in this world are much different from Miaka's, and thus her character develops differently.
Nakago is the leader of the Seriyuu no Seishi and a general of the army of Kutou Country. His weapon is a whip, and he has telekinetic abilities. He is a very manipulative person and is also quite cunning. His motives are difficult to understand at first, but after the series moves further, one can realize his motivation. His main driving force is revenge, and his life is one of some tragedy. Not many people like him, but I actually think he's pretty cool. Who can't like a guy bent on world domination?
His sign means "heart lodging", and it says "kokoro." Like Tamahome, it is on his forehead.
Amiboshi and Suboshi are twins. Amiboshi is the older one, and he plays the flute, which he also uses as a weapon. He uses it to direct his chi and battle others with his chi. His character is "high spirit" which is located on his shoulder. Suboshi is very fond of those who treat him well, but his hatred for those he considers enemies surpasses this fondness, and basically overpowers him. His weapon is a pair of ryuuseisui, which are spiked balls attached to separate ends of a string, and he controls these by telekinesis. His sign is "angle", which is also on his shoulder.
Soi is the only female Seriyuu no Seishi, and she is in love with Nakago. Nakago returns her love because of their similar lots in life. She is very skilled in the art of the sword, and a master of energies. The energies are like water, electricity, storms, and
bochuu. Her character is "tassel" which is on her upper thigh.
Ashitare is half man and half wolf and he is the oldest at 34 years. He kills without remorse and is very dark in character. He fears Nakago. He is very determined to kill the Suzaku no Miko and the Suzaku no Seishi. His character is "tail" and is on his hip.
Tomo wears a kabuki mask on his face. He is a master of illusion and also is a magician. His sign is "root" and it's on his lower abdomen.
Miboshi is a mysterious enigma who can overtake a person's body if they don't have a strong chi. He doesn't have a body of his own, and he is introduced as an evil monk. Little is known about him, and his sign is "basket" which is located on his neck.
